Traffic resumed on the Słupsk - Ustka line

Train traffic from Słupsk to Ustka was resumed as planned. In accordance with the original assumptions, Trakcja PRKiI completed a stage of works on this section to an extent that enabled railroad traffic.

The Słupsk - Ustka section is a one-track electrified line, almost 16 km long. The Ustka station has now a new geometric layout that comprises three tracks. Also, as the station has been quite frequently flooded in the past, it now has a new drainage system using filtration protective layers of the track. The overhead contact line was replaced and adjusted and at the Ustka station a completely new line was built in accordance with the new track layout.

Trains between Słupsk and Ustka will travel with the timetable speed, i.e. 80 km/h, which will temporarily be limited to 60 km/h at crossings, in accordance with the recommendations of the State Railroad Accident Investigation Committee for lines reopened after long periods. Later, the speed of the trains will be gradually increased and will eventually reach 100 km/h between stations. The next stage of finishing works and works intended to ensure appropriate aesthetic appearance will be performed by the end of the term of the contract.

We encourage you to see the photo gallery showing the line before and after the upgrade.
