Beginning of Works on the S 5
Starting on Monday, 5th June 2017, works are commencing on the construction of express road No. S5 at the Szubin – Jaroszewo section. The consortium of contractors consisting of Trakcja PRKiI and Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Technicznych Intercor has begun the first phase of earth works, consisting of the removal of the topsoil, cleaning of melioration ditches and the clearing of trees along the entire section of the length of almost 20 km.
The entire project, situated in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship, specifically in the Nakło and Żnin powiats and the Szubin and Żnin gminas, entails the construction of:
- two carriageways with two traffic lanes each, of the length of 19.3 km,
- 15 civil engineering structures, including: 2 express road overbridges, 6 road overbridges, 3 express road bridges, 2 road bridges, 2 local access road crossings,
- 4 two-level interchanges:
- a Szubin North road interchange at the crossing of the S5 road with gmina category road No. 091034C,
- a Szubin South road interchange at the crossing of the express road with national category road No. 5,
- a road interchange at the crossing of the S5 road with powiat category road No. 1953C (Wąsosz) and 1946C (Ciężkowo),
- a Gniezno – Brzyskorzystewko road interchange at the crossing of the S5 road with national category road No. 5.
Additionally, the project involves the construction of structures for the purposes of the Road Maintenance Authorities in Wąsosz, local roads and access roads to areas adjacent to the express road, lighting and noise barriers in selected locations, as well as melioration ditches and reservoirs. The execution of contractual works will also require the reconstruction of numerous collisions with existing gas, electric power, sewage, sanitary and water pipeline utilities.
