Decent revenues and higher profits

Grupa Trakcja, despite the decline in revenues, continues to improve its profitability. The net profit increased from PLN 1.3 to PLN 51.7 million. The value of contracts that were concluded last year was as much as PLN 1.8 billion gained due to, among other things, a new offer placement policy and the effective expansion on the road construction market. Grupa Trakcja has also been increasing its financial and production potential in order to actively participate in new rail, road and energy sector contracts.

Last year, Grupa Trakcja's revenues amounted to PLN 1,329.2 billion and were 17% lower than in the previous year. However, the net profit increased by PLN 1.3 million up to PLN 51.7 million, resulting in the profit margin of nearly 4%.

The decline in revenues is primarily due to delays in signing new contracts. We had waited for signing our largest contract for as long as 15 months from the date of being awarded the contract. However, taking in relation to the size of the market we still have a considerable backlog, which at the end of the year amounted to nearly PLN 1.6 billion. We also diversify our operations by entering the road, tram and energy markets. Our aspirations and capabilities definitely go far beyond the railway industry” - says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.

Grupa Trakcja's debt fell from PLN 202 million in 2014 to PLN 111 million at the end of 2015, and the surplus of cash and cash equivalents over the total debt of Grupa Trakcja amounted to PLN 140 million. The balance of financing activities improved by 76% and decreased from PLN - 17 million to PLN - 4 million.

In the same period, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. achieved revenues of PLN 763.4 million, and with the profit of PLN 35.1 million the net profit margin was 4.6%. The company also continued organizational changes consisting in merger of functions, which in turn enabled further optimization of employment. At the same time, Trakcja PRKiI prepared for new tasks – power transmission line construction projects.

In addition, as part of further organizational changes, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. took under its direct management the companies operating in Poland which had previously been subsidiaries of the Lithuanian part of the Trakcja Group, such as: PEUiM Białystok Sp. z o.o. and Dalba sp. z o.o.
