Trakcja PRKiI ended the first quarter with profit
During Q1 ended on 31 March 2014, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. generated sales at almost PLN 175 million, which constitutes an increase of 41.2% in comparison to the analogical period of 2013, and net profit amounting to PLN 0.3 million. Gross margin on sales for Q1 2014 amounted to 6.2% and increased by 4.6 p.p. in comparison to the margin for Q1 2013, whereas net profit increased by over PLN 8 million in comparison to the same period of the past year.
"We owe good results not only to the gentle winter, but also to the restructuring commenced last year – says Roman Przybył, the President of the Trakcja Group. We systematically improve the margin and regularly supplement the portfolio of our contracts, which increased by over PLN 160 million during the first quarter.”
In the first quarter 2014, the Trakcja Group obtained revenues from sale in the amount of PLN 239,10 million, which is an increase by 60.1% in comparison with the analogical period of 2013. Gross profit on sale amounted to PLN 12.2 million, and the gross result on sales increased by almost PLN 17 million in comparison to the analogical period last year.
During Q1 2014, the Group generated a loss on operating activity in the amount of PLN 1.9 million. The loss on operating activity decreased by PLN 14.3 million in comparison to Q1 2013, when it amounted to PLN 16.2 million.
For the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 March 2014, the Group generated gross loss amounting to PLN 5.9 million, which decreased by PLN 16.1 million in regard to Q1 2013, when it amounted to PLN 22 million. The Group's net result for the period from 1 January to 31 March 2014 was negative and amounted to PLN 5.2 million. Net loss decreased in comparison to the loss for Q1 2013 by PLN 16.2 million.
