Faster and more comfortable - a new crossing under the tracks in Kiekrz

On Friday, January 13, 2023, technical acceptance took place by the Employer, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., from the Contractor of the crossing under the tracks on the Poznań - Szczecin line in Kiekrz.

A pedestrian and bicycle underpass built by Trakcja Company in the course of Ostra and Kręta streets in Kiekrz as part of the project "Works on the E59 railway line on the section Poznań Główny - Szczecin Dąbie", will increase the safety and comfort of residents and provide convenient communication.

The new route with a total length of 196 m and the facility itself with a length of 16 m are adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility and connect to roads on both sides of the tracks.

In the course of the works, gas, sewage, water, traffic control and telecommunications collisions were removed, while the crossing gained in new lighting and monitoring.

- The investments carried out by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. not only increases safety on railway routes, but also improves communication around the lines, said Arnold Bresch, member of the Management Board of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A.

 - The new crossing under the tracks in Kiekrz, handed over to the Employer today, is the first railway facility that Trakcja will deliver in 2023 - added Bartłomiej Cygan, member of the Management Board of Trakcja. - At this point, I would also like to thank the employees involved in the project, both from Trakcja and PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, and wish them further success in the year that has just begun.

The investment worth PLN 13,739,467.42 net is financed from the state budget and was built in about 14 months from the date of signing the contract.
