Upgrade of the Łódź Śródmieście substation
On 2 April, Trakcja PRKiI signed a PLN 19 million contract with PGE Dystrybucja Łódź for upgrade works on the 110/15/6kV Rozdzielczy Punkt Zasilający Śródmieście substation, service block, and infrastructure.
The works include expansion of the switchgear building and adaptation and outfitting the substation with indoor equipment. This approach involves power equipment being installed indoors, which protects it against the elements. New systems will be installed: external lighting, earthing, and lightning protection. New ventilation and air conditioning systems will be installed as well. Other works include installation of a fire system and a rapid fire detection and extinguishing system as well as a system for detecting and alarming about break-in attempts, gas leak, or hazardous dusts and gases. The structure will have a CCTV system as well.
The project includes an internal road, and repair of the existing cable duct, fencing, and land restoration.
It should be completed in the third quarter of 2021.
