Diversification of Business and Increase in Revenue

Higher revenues from major sectors, diversification of business and strengthening of potential – represent the most important objectives achieved by Trakcja PRKiI last year.

During 2016 Trakcja PRKiI has reported an over 8% increase in sales revenues, including: an almost 3% increase in revenues in the railway sector and more than a double increase in revenues in the road construction sector. The company has successfully started offering its services in the power industry, having won a number of contracts and delivered over 26 million PLN in revenues during its first year of operation in this sector. In general, Trakcja PRKiI has achieved 826 million PLN in sales revenues, and a net profit of 28.7 million PLN.

‘Last year we have been tested by the market, and we have passed this test with success’ – says Mr Jarosław Tomaszewski, the Chairman of Trakcja PRKiI. We have undertaken and implemented a series of major decisions intended to strengthen our company, which I believe include the restructuring and renewal of personnel, development of the road construction sector and our entrance into the power industry sector, and above all the strengthening of our executive potential for the purposes of the development of the National Railway Programme.

Last year, Trakcja PRKiI has obtained a 100% stake in the Bahn Technik Wrocław company, which has a range of specialist railway track-dedicated machinery, has purchased a tamping machine, and continued to modernize its equipment, including locomotives.

‘We are particularly satisfied with the increase in revenues from the railway sector, in spite of the fall in the value of this market with reference to the previous year. A new strategy of intensive tendering has helped us to win many smaller jobs, which were previously contracted to smaller companies’ – adds Mr Jarosław Tomaszewski.

During 2016, the Company has signed building contracts of the combined value of 644 million PLN, which includes works assigned to consortium partners. The portfolio of building contracts of the company as of 31st December 2016, excluding some revenues attributed to our consortium partners, amounted to 796 million PLN. Since the beginning of the year, the company has won contracts of the combined value of over 400 million PLN. Currently, the total value of our proposals participating in tender proceedings where our offer has the lowest price, amounts to almost 1 500 million PLN.

The revenues of Trakcja Group in 2016 amounted to 1 381 million PLN, and were 4% higher than for the previous year, while net profit increased by almost 9% to 56.3 million PLN. The portfolio of building contracts of the Group as of the end of December 2016, excluding those attributed to our consortium partners, amounted to 1 201 million PLN. During last year, companies within the Trakcja Group have signed building contracts of the total value of 911 million PLN, excluding the value of works attributed to consortium partners.

The current portfolio of Trakcja PRKiI and Trakcja Group as of 31st December 2016 ensures full employment of our production capabilities during the next turnover year. Our participation in new tenders in 2017 will allow us to further develop our contract portfolio for the following periods.
