Upgrade of the "Sokrates" tram substation
Trakcja PRKiI and Tramwaje Warszawskie concluded a contract worth nearly 8 million zlotys net for a comprehensive upgrade of the traction substation located at Sokratesa Street. The project will cover reconstruction of the substation building and replacement of the power engineering equipment. As a part of the contract, Trakcja PRKiI will equip the substations with direct current switchgears, type MRT-06/W, which it manufactures itself, as well as rectifier sets, an auxiliary transformer, and an alternating current switchgear. Also, the lightning protection and grounding system, the smoke signaling and detection system, the lighting system, the monitoring system, and the building's access control system will be replaced.
According to the plans, the project will be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2020.
