Modernization of the overhead contact line
The design and performance of a new overhead contact line along with accompanying works at the Racibórz – Chałupki section is yet another task to be executed by Trakcja PRKiI within the scope of modernization of the E-59 line at the Kędzierzyn Koźle-Chałupki section (country border).
The Company will rebuild almost 9 km of the overhead contact line at the Racibórz - Krzyżanowicach route - track no. 1, at the Krzyżanowice station - tracks no’s 1, 2, 4 and 6, and in all crossing, as well as approximately 13 km at the Krzyżanowice – Chałupki route – tracks no’s 1 and 2. The task will include a redevelopment of a non-traction line (LPN) constructed on the substructures of the overhead contact line on track 1 on the Krzyżanowice – Chałupki route, and a redevelopment of the conduit under rail tracks.
The new overhead contact line will facilitate, amongst others, reaching maximum speed by rail freight trains – up to 100 km/h, and passenger trains - 120 km/h.
To execute this task, the Company will use its professional teams and own specialist equipment, which includes: network trains, rolling stock, pile drivers and railway cranes. The completion of works is planned on 30 November 2019. The value of the contract exceeds PLN 28 million net.
