Tramway Project in Gorzów Wielkopolski

The modernization of tramway track and overhead contact system of the length of almost 3 km along Warszawska and Sikorskiego Streets, including the reconstruction of intersections, exit roads and bus bays in Gorzów Wielkopolski, is covered by a contract signed by Trakcja PRKiI on the 23rd of January. The scope of the works also includes the construction of platforms, reconstruction of streets, intersections and supporting infrastructure for the passengers of the municipal transport system, including sidewalks and bicycle lanes. It also covers a complete refurbishment of a road bridge over Kłodawka river. The project also involves the elimination of a collision between the existing road infrastructure and electric power grid utilities.

“We are now shifting back towards the delivery of projects in the tramway infrastructure sector”, says Mr Jarosław Tomaszewski, the Chairman of Trakcja PRKiI. “We have set up an internal unit responsible for the municipal transport sector, which consists of experienced engineers and electrical installation teams equipped with specialist equipment. We have completed numerous projects of this kind in the past, for example in Warsaw, Gdańsk or Wrocław. Additionally, for several years now we have been manufacturing electrical switchgear stations for the tramway sector. These have been used for the renovation of numerous substations supplying tramway overhead contact systems, for example in Warsaw, Łódź, Olsztyn, Toruń and Kraków”.

The project of the net value of 45.3 million PLN will be completed within 19 months from the date of the signing of contract.
