Trakcja PRKiI consistently improves its results, while the group records seasonal losses
In the 1st quarter of 2017, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. generated sales revenue amounting to PLN 91.7 million, representing an increase of 0.8% in relation to the corresponding period of the previous year. The overheads continued to decrease, by more than 8%. In this period, the company has achieved a net profit of PLN 3.9 million.
“We consistently improve the results of Trakcja PRKiI. The organizational changes in the company and reasonable tendering policy have noticeably improved the margin. We systematically recover our contract portfolio on all markets on which the company operates” – says Mr Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI. “The sales structure and seasonality had a greater effect on the revenues of the Lithuanian companies this year, which did not start work until March. The increased competitiveness, in turn, was reflected by the margin of the remaining subsidiaries. This has slightly reduced the results of the Group. “Also, the activities aimed at diversifying the operations of the Group into new markets are characterised by lower margins achieved in the first phases of expansion” – adds Mr Tomaszewski.
In the 1st quarter of 2017, the Trakcja Group. generated sales revenue amounting to PLN 136.6 million, representing a decrease of approx. 2.5% in relation to the corresponding period of the previous year. The net result of the Group for the 1st quarter of 2017 was negative, and it amounted to PLN 6.2 million in comparison to the positive result of PLN 0.5 million in the same period of 2016.
The portfolio of construction contracts of the Trakcja Group as of 31 March 2017 amounted to PLN 1,347 million (without the consortium partners). In the first quarter of 2017, companies of the Trakcja Group signed construction contracts with a total price of PLN 249 million (without the consortium partners), and from the 1st of April, the price of further signed contracts was almost PLN 600 million. Also, the overall value of the tenders of Trakcja PRKiI ranking first in the open railway and road tender procedures is approximately PLN 1 billion. Involvement in the new tender procedures will enable the Group to further safeguard its contract portfolio for later periods.
