Railway Engineering Contract in Silesia for PLN 300 Million
A contract signed by Trakcja PRKiI on behalf of the consortium of contractors provides for the modernization of a 14.5 km-long railway line on the section Jaworzno Szczakowa - Trzebinia. The work is scheduled to take 24 months.
The task will be carried out on the following three sections: the Jaworzno Szczakowa station, the sections Jaworzno Szczakowa - provincial border and Trzebinia - provincial border. The contract, to be implemented in the "build" formula, provides for a comprehensive upgrade of the railway line with the passenger infrastructure, including: replacement of substructure with reinforcements, track systems along with improved geometry, the construction of drainage system and the removal or reconstruction of railway crossings with the construction of access roads. In addition, it includes a comprehensive modernization of the catenary, power supply facilities and non-traction power line. An integral part of the work will include a number of tasks related to the protection of the environment.
"I am pleased with the improvement of procurement procedures, owing to which we are able sign the contract as early as after three months from the tender opening. The acceleration of projects is crucial for the full implementation of the National Railway Programme – says President of Trakcja PRKiI Jarosław Tomaszewski. I am also looking forward to signing next contracts in railway tender procedures worth more than PLN 800 million in total, for which we have proposed the lowest tender price."
The net value of the contract, in which Trakcja PRKiI is the leader of the consortium of contractors to perform the contract, is PLN 296.45 million. The partners of the consortium include, among others, PKP Energetyka and PORR Polska.
