The Okęcie - Czachówek Line – the Phase Completed Before Schedule

Trakcja PRKiI is even three months ahead of the schedule of work on the Radom railway line. Last weekend, along with the change of timetable, general contractor Trakcja PRKiI S.A. put into service the railway line on the section from Warszawa Okęcie to Czachówek Południowy.

A total of nearly 21 km of tracks and catenary and 18 switches were modernized, 6 new platforms and a completely new station Warszawa Okęcie were built. Traffic on the Warsaw - Piaseczno section runs on two tracks, and the construction of an additional holding track in the Piaseczno station allowed the implementation of new traffic arrangements. As a result, some trains will be able to finish their route in Piaseczno. As a result, this will help increase the capacity of the line and the frequency of trains on the busiest section. In addition, the work carried out by the Contractor are ahead of the established schedule more than 3 months, which gives us a good chance to complete the modernization works in the third quarter of 2017.

"This was possible owing to the enormous commitment of our employees and mobilization of the implementation potential of Trakcja PRKiI - says Robert Kuczyński, the Company's communication officer. We collected soon enough all the necessary materials and we have properly organized work of nearly 500 construction workers and equipment operators who performed their tasks in 8 industries for 24 hours a day. We are happy to meet the commitments we made to PKP PLK, so that passengers from the Radom line can enjoy the improvement of the transportation offer."

Contractor plans commissioning of further elements of the railway infrastructure by the end of the year, including 4.5 km of the new track system in the direction to Chynów, 11 switches and a new two-edge platform at the Czachówek Południowy station.
