New shape of Niciarniana Street in Łódź
A new railway platform in the area of Niciarniana Street is already taking its final shape. Numerous networks colliding with the tunnel under construction are being rearranged.
The work in the area of Niciarniana Street in Łódź is accelerating. A tunnel under the tracks to streamline the vehicular and pedestrians traffic in this part of the city is under construction, together with a new railway platform with comprehensive infrastructure for travellers and residents.
Last year we made a 19 m x 30 m relieving slab with a thickness of 0.6 m, established on three rows of pilings embedded in the ground at a depth of 9.5 to 15 m. Within the project, three of 4 tracks leading to Łódź Fabryczna have already been laid. The tunnel being built under it, with two motor traffic lanes, include pavements for pedestrians on both sides.
The island-type platform with a length of 250 m is currently being paved with surface slabs, also installation of lighting poles is completed. We started soil excavation for the construction of a staircase ultimately linking the platform with the pavement inside the tunnel. In addition, the work involving reconstruction of numerous systems located in the project area is under way. During construction of the tunnel the course of two gas networks – low and medium pressure must be rearranged, as well as some low and medium voltage power lines, water mains and four lines of sanitary and storm sewers and four ITC main lines operated by various telecommunication operators.
