Agreements for the construction of the S5 route concluded
Trakcja PRKiI S.A. consolidates its position on the road construction market. The Company is going to participate in the construction of two of the six sections of Expressway S5.
According to its announcements, Grupa Trakcja is expanding its operations on the road construction market. The total value of contracts to be implemented in this sector in Poland in 2015 is nearly PLN 100 million. The company acquired, for the net value of over PLN 286 million, its contract for the construction of a section Szubin – Jaroszewo of Expressway S5 with a length of 19.4 km.
"This year is a turning point for us in terms of revenue diversification. We are increasing our revenue from the road construction market in Poland and from the railway construction market in Lithuania – says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A. We also own dedicated road equipment, and we are going to launch a new bitumen mixing plant next year. Our engineering staff and a significant portion of our mechanical potential can be used for both road and railway purposes.
The scope of work includes the construction of two carriageways of the expressway, each composed of 2 lanes, construction of new and reconstruction of existing road junctions to incorporate them in the perspective road system, and construction of engineering structures. In addition, pavements, bike paths, bus bays and MSAs will be built in designated areas. According to the schedule agreed with General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways, the design work and obtaining permits for the project should allow us to start construction work in 2017.
On the same day also an agreement worth net PLN 300 million for the construction of the section of the route S5 between the "Aleksandrowo" and "Tryszczyn" junctions, with a length of 14.7 km. Trakcja PRKiI is a member of a consortium of contractors established for that task under leadership of Intercor sp. z o.o.
