Trakcja Group will develop Via Baltica section
Ab Kauno Tiltai – Trakcja Group subsidiary from Kowno – concluded a contract on development of Kowno-Mariampol road constituting a part of Trans-European network.
The contract concluded between Ab Kauno Tiltai with Lithuanian Road Administration at the Ministry of Communication is worth over 134 million zloty net. The contract provides for a development of 61 km of E67 road (Via Baltica) at Kowno – Marijampole section.
The aim of the works is to raise the level of security and to adjust the road section to motorway standards by: broadening the road at the 6 km section, building a new 2 km road, rebuilding crossroads and building flyovers and footbridges for pedestrians in several localisations. Additionally, in selected localisations noise barriers and lamp posts will be installed and pavements and cycle paths will be built. Via Baltica constituting an element of Trans-European transport corridor runs through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and fulfils a role of the most important road connection between Baltic countries.
Works realisation period was planned for 9 months since the date of concluding the contract.
