Contract for the upgrade of the Warszawa Gdańska railway station

Trakcja PRKiI S.A. has signed a contract for the upgrade of the rail infrastructure in the area of the Warszawa Gdańska railway station. The company has optimised its tendering strategies and systematically rebuilds its contract portfolio.

The contract signed by Trakcja PRKiI S.A. on behalf of its contractor consortium with the Polish State Railways (PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A.) is worth over PLN 43 million. The contract involves delivery of design documentation and construction works within the Warszawa Gdańska railway station.

"In the recent weeks, we have optimised our tendering strategies which led to submitting the winning price bids in three subsequent tendering procedures worth over PLN 210 million net. Our financial and performance potential lets us implement even the largest railway contracts," says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.

The works include redevelopment of 8 km of railway tracks along with the development of 19 railroad switches and 10 km of a new overhead line system. The task also involves assembly of the control-command and signalling system as well as power supply, telecommunications and technical equipment, the drainage system, upgrade of 2 civil engineering facilities and construction of a new platform, which will be combined with an existing pedestrian underground passage. Apart from Trakcja PRKiI S.A., other entities forming the contractor consortium are ZUE S.A. and Comsa S.A. The expected completion date is 21 December 2015.
