Construction of technical facilities for the Łódź Agglomeration Railway completed

On 30 September 2014, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. completed construction works at the technical facilities of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway. The most state-of-the-art train service complex in Poland was built within only 12 months in the direct neighbourhood of the Łódź Widzew station.

Trakcja PRKiI is the general contractor of the technical facilities for Stadler trains providing passenger service for the Łódź Agglomeration Railway. Within as little as 12 months (the foundation stone was set on 11 October 2013) a complete hall was built measuring 140 meters in length and 40 meters in width. The facility is composed of four parts: repair and service with three tracks, train wash where the forth track is located, office and utility facilities, and storage space. The facility is equipped with numerous modern devices used for everyday service and ongoing repairs of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway trains. The individual tracks are equipped with: underfloor wheel lathe, laser station for measuring wheelsets, scales for measuring wheel load, trap door and sanding station. The ecological train wash offers processes such as de-icing, sewage removal and water supply. The value of the contract was over PLN 55.2M net.
