Trakcja Group increases its profits

Trakcja Group has published its financial results for Q1 2014. Its revenues have risen by more than 33%, its net profit is almost 9 million higher than in the previous year, whereas EBITDA increased by 31%, reaching the level of PLN 32.4 million. Almost 65% of the Group's revenues are generated by Trakcja PRKiI, which has also significantly improved its results.  

In H1 2014, Trakcja Group earned revenues on sales of PLN 579 million, which represents an increase of 33% in comparison to the same period in 2013. The gross profit on sales reached the level of PLN 49.9 million, EBIT: PLN 20.6 million  (an increase of 54.4%), and the net profit improved by almost PLN 9 million – to PLN 9.1 million. The value of EBITDA reached PLN 32.4 million, which indicates an increase of 31.4%.

"Trakcja Group has a portfolio of orders worth PLN 2.5 bn, 1.8 of which belongs to Trakcja PRKiI S.A., including the consortium members. Since the beginning of the year, we have executed contracts in Poland and Lithuania worth almost PLN 285 million. We are expecting the execution of other contracts, including one for PLN 376 million concerning the modernisation of the railway line between Okęcie and Czachówek.  We are also awarded other contracts in the area of highway engineering and power industry and we are searching for new ones on the markets of Baltic countries". – says Roman Przybył, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.

In the same period, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. earned revenues of more than PLN 380 million, which, in comparison to the same period of the previous year (PLN 252.6 million), means an increase of 50.8%. The Group's gross profit on sales amounted to PLN 28.0 million (an increase of 114%), EBIT: PLN 13.4 million (an increase of 23.5%), whereas its gross profit increased from PLN 5.4 million to PLN 6.7 million, i.e. it was 24.2% higher than in the previous year. The value of EBITDA increased by 20.8% and amounted to PLN 19.2 million. The company had worked out a net profit of PLN 5.1 million, compared to PLN 3.1 million in the previous year (an increase of 64.4%). Data from the first half of the year were compared to the consolidated results of Trakcja S.A. and PRKiI S.A. Wrocław, merged in December of the previous year.

"The results of the first half show the positive effects of the changes concerning the organisation and management policy related, among other things, to contracts and purchasing. Moreover, general administrative expenses are PLN 1.3 million lower than in the previous year".  – adds Roman Przybył, President of the company.

In its financial statements for H1 2014, Trakcja Group applied new principles concerning the presentation of results, which do not include revenues and costs related to consortium agreements. Revenues and costs of Trakcja Group presented together with consortium members would be PLN 190 million higher, whereas those of Trakcja PRKiI would be PLN 95.2 million higher.

Trakcja PRKiI is an unquestionable leader in the area of railway construction in Poland Presently, more than 30 railway contracts are being carried out throughout Poland, for example in: Malbork, Rzeszów, Dębica, Łódź and Wrocław regions and in Łódź. The entity operates in the power industry as a manufacturer of low and medium voltage distribution boards as well as steel structures for overhead lines. Almost all 3kV distribution boards on the modernised Warsaw-Gdynia railway line have been provided by Trakcja PRKiI S.A. The company also performs contracts in the area of public transport, constructing and modernising tram and trolleybus lines.

AB Kauno Tiltai is a leader in the area of infrastructure construction in Lithuania. It performs road and railway contracts, e.g. the Lithuanian section of Rail Baltica and the energy bridge with Sweden as well as a number of road contracts.  Kauno Tiltai Group expands its operation to other Baltic countries. PRK 7 Nieruchomości is a developer based in Warsaw, which is currently carrying out several housing projects in the capital.
