Viaduct in Rogów – working day and night

The facility is constructed at a railway line characterized by largest intensification of traffic in Poland. Works are conducted during the day and during night-time breaks in train traffic. At the end of June, main stages of building the viaduct falsework were completed at the end of June. At the same time, works in the road part are being performed.

Trakcja PRKiI S.A. is building a road viaduct in Rogów town at the intersection of the Warsaw – Łódź line and national road no. 72. The first stage of the investment was building a bypassing road with the length of 870 meters along with a temporary railway crossing, at the rail level, and a partial reconstruction of 809 meters of the national road. Construction works at the viaduct were commenced at the break of February and March this year. The specificity of the facility and geological conditions required setting a viaduct on 128 poles with the diameter of 1 meter, placed in the ground at the depth of 9.5 m. The bearing part consists of 14 pre-stressed concrete beams with the length of 17.7 m and weighing 13.5 tons each. These elements were constructed during two night-time breaks in train traffic in mid June. Total length of the viaduct is 48 m, width - 13.7 m, spread of arches - 17,5 m, width - 13.76 m, vertical clearance 6.3 m, horizontal clearance 16.4 m. These dimensions allow laying down a road with two lanes with the width of 3.50 meter each, and two footpaths with the width of 1.50 meter. The scope of works also provides for building 630 meters of a footpath, two bus bays, and a municipal road with the width of 480 meters. The facility will be equipped with a road dewatering system consisting of dewatering ditches and separators of oil substances.
