Illumination of the Józef Piłsudski bridge in Cracow

The modernized Piłsudski bridge that connects Kazimierz and Podgórze districts has been complemented with beautiful, new illumination. Restoration of the historical object, built in 1933, took place within the scope of the modernization of the road and track-way system along Krakowska street performed by Trakcja.

Below is the list of equipment used to illuminate the bridge:

  • 16 kilometres of cables,
  • 377 luminaires in total,
  • 290 m LED lights along the whole bridge roof,
  • 4 lighting cabinets equipped with dedicated drivers,
  • dedicated illumination control software was written and implemented.

The steel structure of the bridge is illuminated in white colour in order to underline the characteristic blue colour of the whole construction. The pillars can be illuminated with different colours and it must be emphasized that they may be arbitrarily selected by user. This is possible because of the mentioned software.

Installation of the bridge illumination was one of the key elements of the bridge modernization that will be permanently illuminated at night.
