Construction of an expressway in the Ełk area
The consortium of Trakcja PRKiI, Mostostal Warszawa and PEUiM Białystok of the Trakcja Group concluded an agreement for the design and construction of a section of the S61 and S16 expressways in the Ełk district. The contract is worth over PLN 557 million net.
"This agreement is the result of a consistent development policy of our company in the road construction sector, which we pursue in a sustainable manner, applying a conservative approach to valuations– says Marek Kacprzak, Vice-President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI S.A. Today's agreement is the result of selecting the offer with the third price ranking (nearly PLN 100 million more expensive than the cheapest offer), comparable to the employer's cost estimate, in which we took into account a number of potential risks. Trakcja PRKiI and its subsidiaries are systematically developing their potential, increasing their independence from subcontractors”.
The project will involve the construction of over 19 km of the S61 road between the Ełk Południe interchange and the Wysokie interchange, as well as a 3.425 km section of the S16 road. The scope of the contract includes the performance of all necessary works for the proper functioning of the expressway. Apart from the construction of the S61 and S16 sections, the works will also include a conversion of existing roads, construction of civil structures, infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, connector roads, road safety equipment and emergency crossings. In addition, the contract requires the installation of a drainage system, a telecommunications network, lighting and environmental protection equipment.
The works will be performed within a period of 29 months, not including the winter season in the duration of the works.
