Relocation of Bunker at the S5 Construction Site
A 1939 bunker, representing an element of the defense line of the Poznań Army, has been relocated during the construction of the S5 express road at the Szubin - Jaroszewo section, in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. The structure, weighing 180 tonnes and situated in the settlement of Dąbrówka Słupska, was lifted using six cylinders and then moved by 34.33 m in the South-Eastern direction, upon a specially prepared sliding track. The relocation of the bunker at a speed of about 3 m per hour took several hours, but was preceded by several-week long preparations which included the preparation of area and construction of the track. All works and preparations were carried out under the supervision of the conservator of historic buildings. Upon the completion of the project, the bunker will be situated in a developed area, in the vicinity of the road, and will be visible from a passing vehicle. The construction of the 19.5 km long express road at the Szubin - Jaroszewo section is currently the biggest road contract of Trakcja PRKiI.
